Every culture and people within its defined time and place has its own special uniqueness setting its own identity for itself and distinguishing itself to the outside observers. This uniqueness encompasses all aspects of life for its people, from its social welfare to its economic structure and to its built environment including its Arts and Architecture. With the growing challenges for man to create an ever more healthy and high quality space for living, and the many modern failures  that has contributed to a growing concern to the environment, we are now encouraged to look back to our past history and local context of the built environment to find the balance between development and conservation, and between design and nature. This endeavor is what is now known as part  of our effort  to base our progress on local wisdom and Genius Loci.

The Department of Architecture of UIN it determined to be one of the leading Institutions in Indonesia to support the harmonization between architecture and the environment by way of incorporating Green Architecture in our curriculum along with academic activities in line with its aspiration. Therefore the Department of Architecture UIN hereby presents the International Conference on
